Event Overage Calculations
for Explorer Subscribers
Overage Fees
There are two kinds of overage fees that can be generated, after an event ends:
- Duration Overage: If the duration of the event was such that it exceeded your event hour balance, you will be charged $100 per quarter hour (or part thereof) of over-run. So, for example, if your event hour balance at the start of the event was 1:15 event hours (i.e. one hour and 15 minutes) and the event ran for 1 hour and 23 minutes, you will be charged for one quarter hour over-run, i.e. $100.
- Audience Overage: By default, events of up to 1,000 attendees are included in your Explorer subscription. If you have an event with more than 1,000 attendees, you will be charge $1 per hour for all attendees in excess of your allowance. So, for example, if you run a 2 hour event and 1,100 people attend, you will be charged for 100 people for 2 hours, i.e. $200.
These overage charges are mutually exclusive and are calculated at the end of the event, based on the actual duration and attendance at the event. For example, if you host an event that exceeds both your event hour balance and your Audience Size allowance, you will incur an overage charge for each overage type.
Event Overage Quotes during Event Creation
Unexpected bills are never a nice surprise so, for your convenience, we have included an Overage Quote Estimator tool in the Create Event page.
That way, when you are creating an event, if you provide an estimate of the expected Audience Size and Event Duration, the Summary section of Create Event will give you a quote estimate, to assist you with any budgetary planning you may need to do for that event.
